Taupo Holiday Homes - Terms & Conditions
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully. By completing your booking, you agree to abide by the rules outlined below. These terms are subject to change and apply to all guests staying in any of our properties.
Booking and Guest Verification
• A check-in form must be completed prior to arrival, including a copy of the primary guest’s ID and a list of all staying guests. Bookings may be cancelled if this is not provided.
• By booking, you agree to receive marketing emails from us, which you may opt out of at any time.
• Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the published rates across all booking platforms; however, Harcourts Taupo Holiday Homes reserves the right to correct pricing errors.
Payments and Credit Card Authority
• All bookings require a valid Visa or MasterCard, or a bond held as security.
• Payment in full is due 30 days before your stay commences. This will be automatically deducted from the credit card entered at the time of booking. You can log in to your guest portal to update or change your card details.
• Failure to pay on time may result in your booking being cancelled and the property being made available to others. Please ensure your card details are correct and that sufficient funds are available. Cancellation charges will apply (see below).
• Bookings made via Instant Book are subject to review and may be cancelled if they breach any terms.
• We reserve the right to charge your card for any loss, damage, or additional cleaning as outlined in this document.
Cancellations and Amendments
• Cancellations must be made via email to — no phone cancellations.
• Follow the cancellation policy of the booking website used.
• Amendments may incur an admin fee and are subject to availability and seasonal tariffs.
• If a property becomes uninhabitable, a full refund will be issued. The Property Owners retain the right to cancel bookings if necessary. In such cases, we will make every effort to offer alternative accommodation, though we cannot guarantee availability or pricing.
• If government travel restrictions prevent travel, bookings may be placed on hold and rebooked, subject to availability.
Check-In and Check-Out
• Check-in from 3:00 PM | Check-out by 10:00 AM.
• Keys will only be released once full payment and check-in form are received.
Guest Responsibilities
• The primary guest must be 25 years or older. All other guests without a parent or guardian must be over 20 years old.
• Strict no party policy: including hens, stags, large gatherings, or events.
• Quiet hours are between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Noise must be kept to a minimum during these hours to respect neighbouring properties.
• Noise complaints or illegal activity will result in eviction and charges for damages.
• Treat the home with respect — damages will be charged plus a 10% handling fee.
• Guests must:
- Supervise children, especially around stairs, fires, balconies, and water.
- Leave the property clean and tidy, with furniture and appliances returned to their original places.
- Remove all rubbish except one bag, an additional disposal fee applies if not done
- Clean BBQs after use, an additional fee applies if not done.
- Secure the home on departure (windows, doors, appliances off).
- Notify us promptly of any damage or issues.
- If excessive cleaning is needed, a fee of $60 per hour may apply.
- If provided, Wi-Fi must not be used for illegal activity or excessive downloading/streaming.
- Any personal items or possessions that are left at the property are not the responsibility of Harcourts Taupo Holiday Homes, however we will make every effort to recover and return items to the guest, at the guests expense.
Smoking, Vaping, and Cooking Odours
• All properties are smoke and vape-free indoors.
• Smoking is only permitted outside — not near open doors or windows.
• Smoking indoors will result professional ozone odour removal fee being charged.
• Strong cooking odours may also incur a ozone odour removal or deodorising fee being charged.
Pets and Animals
• Pets are only allowed with prior approval.
• If permitted:
- No pets on furniture or beds.
- Clean up all droppings and pet hair.
- Pets must not be left alone.
- Vaccinations and flea treatments must be up to date.
- Pets must not cause nuisance or disruption to neighbours, including excessive barking or roaming
- Additional cleaning, odour removal or repairs required due to the pet, will be charged to the guest.
Health & Safety
• Guests must familiarise themselves with property-specific hazards (e.g., stairs, balconies, fires, icy paths, unlit outdoor areas).
• Any kayaks, spa pools, bicycles, or pools provided at the property are to be used at your own risk.
• Harcourts Taupo Holiday Homes and the property owners accept no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to any guest or their belongings during their stay
What to Bring
• Properties are self-contained. Unless otherwise stated, bring:
• Sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathmats, tea towels.
• We provide limited essentials such as toilet paper, soap, and bin liners. However, you will need to bring your own toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other personal items.
• Firewood is supplied where applicable
Body Corporate Rules
• Guests must comply with any applicable body corporate regulations during their stay.
Breaches and Fines
You may be evicted, fined up to $500 and held liable for damages or costs if you:
1. Exceed guest occupancy.
2. Use tents, caravans, or RVs onsite.
3. Tamper with smoke alarms.
4. Cause fire, smoke, or flood damage.
5. Leave heating/fires/appliances unattended.
6. Book under someone else’s name without them being present.
7. Use illegal substances or engage in unlawful activities.
8. Copy keys or remotes.
9. Bring pets without prior approval.
10. Verbally or physically abuse staff, neighbours, or owners.
Office Hours and Emergency Call-Outs
Our office hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and closed on public holidays. Outside these hours, a duty manager is available for issues during your stay. Please note, this is a Harcourts duty person and may not be familiar with your property or booking details, but can help with urgent matters.
Guests may be charged for unnecessary after-hours call-outs, such as being locked out or losing keys. If a tradesperson is called and the issue is found to be caused by the guest (e.g. tripped circuit breaker due to a personal appliance or a 110V charger), the guest will be responsible for the full cost of the call-out. This includes but is not limited to after-hours call out fees.
Final Note
We work hard to ensure everything is right for your stay. However, if you do find something that has been missed, or is not working/up to standard, it is your responsibility to advise us of this and allow us the opportunity to put it right. If you do not allow us the opportunity, we will not consider any form of discount or compensation.
